I have been using the Yantra Mat because it’s a great way to relieve stress, to calm me down and get the blood flow going through my body.
When Alice first told me about the Yantra Mat I thought that I’m not really one to lay on something prickly But in my business as a makup artist it’s all about trying to maintain good blood flow and energy and that affects your complexion.
When I first laid on the Yantra Mat it was a bit intense, I looked at the little picture on the brochure and it shows a girl without a shirt on and I was a little concerned about that but I thought I would try it without the shirt on they jumped right back up. So I put a very thin T-shirt on and that worked great. Now after a few days I worked up to 15 min per session. I am a very high energy person but when I lay on this mat for 15 minutes it’s almost like having a little mini break.
I’ve never had acupressure acupuncture done before but I believe in it, and I know how important it is for the body. Once you get past the first 2 to 3 minutes when you are feeling the intense pressure of the spikes all of a sudden your body just absorbs the mat and you just melt in. After 10 or 15 min I get up, I feel rested and energised. I did look at my back and it was fire engine red so don’t worry that’s what it’s supposed to look like as it’s getting the blood flowing.
You lay down on it, you get that intense tingling sensation, melt into it, you get the blood flow. Some people may find that after hard work they find it very relaxing, when I use it, when I do yoga I get to do it without doing a thing I get rest, I get acupressure, I get to relax, I get the blood flowing and I get a hole new interaction with my body which I have no idea is going on. the great thing about this is if you go to a acupressure specialist you’re talking £30 to £40 per session, but with this Yantra Mat you’ve got your own personal sized therapist rolled up under the bed.
One thing I do like about this mat is that I travel a lot, I can just roll it up and pack it. Basically is just easy to travel with and it’s great to have something with you which is therapeutic and you can take on the road with you.
People call it the modern day bed of nails but it’s not something that is going to harm you or injure you. It has an intensity about it and it has something that challenges you mentally because when you first lay down I do think I’m not be able to do this.
I actually pull my knees up to my chest and what that does is get my lower back done. You do tend to sink deeper into the spikes so I only do during the last few minutes of session. It may not be a good idea to start out doing that in the beginning, you want to work into it. I love it I absolutly love it!
Women today have high levels of stress, it was never intended that way years and years ago but they’re working, they are mothers, they are maintaining a house and it’s a lot of stress in women’s lives. If you can have something which only takes 10 to 15 min and you can relax with it, it’s basically you bring your mind body and spirit back in line with how it’s supposed to be and with a bit of extra energy and of course it’s natural and healthy.
